According to the Go Daddy web site, they had purchased two ads for the superbowl: one to run in the first quarter and the second to run at the 2 minute warning in the first half. They allege that after the NFL saw the first ad they phoned FOX and got them to pull the second ad.
I find this a little difficult to believe because I think that the NFL would have checked the ads well before the game had started.
If Go Daddy is telling the truth then it is very sad how much control corporations are exerting over our lives and how spineless some corporations, like FOX, have become.

Do the sponsors get their money back if their ad doesn't run? I would be almost positive that the network would vet all the ads before they show them.
I was reading USA Today the next day and they have a regular ranking of all the ads. They buried that one, claiming that people didn't really get it and didn't think it was funny. Considering that almost everyone I know in the male target demographic thought it was hilarious, I'm extremely skeptical. America's puritanical culture is so atavistic. It'd be boring if it wasn't such a powerful nation.
