26. Philip K. Dick, The Broken Bubble

PKD wrote a few novels that weren't science fiction, this is one of those novels.  It follows the stories of four people in San Francisco in 1956:  a radio DJ who gets suspended from his job for refusing to read an ad, his psychologically confused ex-wife, and two young fans.  After the DJ gets suspended their lives become intertwined and, for part of the story, the DJ takes on the younger female fan as his love interest and the ex-wife takes on the younger male fan as her lover.  In the midst of all this, all four of them get involved in a hair brained revolutionary movement that is seeking to overthrow the government.

This is supposed to be a dark comedy but it is a little more dark than comedy.  It is a well written book with an engaging story but I was not overwhelmed.
