Padding My Stats
Every night around 8 I sit down with my young daughter and read her a story. Sometimes I read a few pages from the book that I am reading and other times I read stories about Grufallos, naughty mice or some other appropriate theme. I want to know if I can count these books as part of my reading for 2008 because with these books I would be reading fifty books per month!

It only counts if she can understand you and right now all she hears is , "Mrrruum a nurrrr o bleee. Food, Poo."
Hmmm, I don't know. You are in effect actually reading these books, whether or not she is understanding them (and who is to say she isn't?) Are you completing them, though, from start to finish?
I know Doc Holaday has struggled with this issue and his kids are like 6 and 8 or something. He also counts books on tape, though!
